Pearl is an adorable female albino baby. We held onto her longer than usual due to her being very grumpy at the time that the rest of her litter went home. When a baby that age is unhappy, you can't know if it's their temperament or if they're just having an especially hard time quilling. The only way to tell the difference is to wait it out - so we did. And it's apparent to us that she was just in pain because she is now super sweet and social for us. That said, during her one meet-and-greet with a stranger, she was a tad spiky and unsure. No aggression or biting. Just some nerves. Could've been because it was the first time, or it could mean she's always a tad nervous when first handed to unfamiliar people. We have no doubt that she will bond with her new owner and come out of her shell just the way she did with us, but it may take a few days for her to fully relax and develop trust so she will need a confident, persistent owner who will earn her trust and handle her consistently even in those first few days when it may be tough.
If she does well the next time she meets new people and we come to the conclusion that it was just first-time nerves, we will definitely add an update here.
